Geological History of the Valley

The Connecticut Valley has a very interesting geologic history. Evidence for that history abounds in the landscape, outcrops, and rocks that are visible in Whately and vicinity. John Brady is Professor Emeritus of Geosciences at Smith College. His research interests range from the evolution of metamorphic rocks in Montana and Greece to atomic diffusion measurements in the experimental petrology lab.
